Adebayo Oke-Lawal’s who has a degree in finance, but no professional training in fashion, learnt the craft on his own by watching YouTube tutorials and taking internships with Nigerian designers, experimenting with styles that merged African tradition with contemporary flair. His fearless approach to fashion culminated in the birth of Orange Culture in 2011, a brand that later became an international sensation.
The brand became well-known throughout the world in 2014 after being chosen as one of 20 finalists out of a thousand brands for the Prestigious LVMH (Louis Vuitton-Moët-Hennessy) Prize for young designers. This opened numerous opportunities for the young designer, allowing him to showcase his collections at fashion weeks in London, Paris, and New York.
His designs has also be featured in prominent fashion publications such as Vogue, BoF and many more.
