Nigeria’s Samuel Nwajaju has made history by becoming the first African and Nigerian to win the Prestigious Mister International pageant 2024.
Mister International is one of the world’s largest male beauty pageants, second only to Mister World in terms of national-level competitions.
Samuel Nwajaju won the 16th edition of the pageant held at Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday 14th December 2024. The 23-year-old software engineer, athlete & model also won the Best Swimwear category, secured the title by competing against 47 other contestants, the highest number in the pageant’s history.
The Nigerian defeated other rivals, including Vietnam’s Nguyễn Mạnh Lân, who finished as first runner-up, and Indonesia’s Glenn Victor Sutanto, who finished as second runner-up, to succeed Kim Thitisan Goodburn of Thailand.
Samuel Nwajaju secured his spot in this year’s competition by winning the Mister Nigeria 2024 title in June during a grand event at the Lagos Oriental Hotel.
Although the specific cash prize or award for the Mister International competition is not explicitly disclosed, winners enjoy various forms of recognition, such as sponsorships, endorsements, and opportunities to collaborate with global brands and organisations.
This huge victory comes just months after Chidinma Adetshina, a Nigerian beauty, made history at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant by placing second runner-up—the highest ranking no female Nigerian has achieved in years.
Nigerians are greatly improving in their pageantry, with this energy, then we anticipate more wins in 2025.
