On December 13, 2024, Crown Uzama, popularly known in the world of Music as Shallipoppi recently announced his decision to leave his record label, Dapper Music.
In a picture made public via X, the singer, mentioned that he had severed every tie with Dapper Music, as well as the fact that they would no longer distribute his music on streaming platforms anymore.

The singer, who dropped his album ‘Shakespopi‘ this year, cited various reasons behind his decision to leave the label. From mismanagement of funds, to lack of financial transparency, as well as an attempt to have him sign a slave contract that would allow the record label to get a share from his earnings, even after they part ways.
A graduate of Fashion Design, from the polytechnic of Auchi, Shallipoppi mentioned that it was unfair and unjust to him as an artiste who has dedicated so much to his craft, that he be treated any less deserving of his career success.

The exit of Shallipoppi from the record label has further set Dapper Music on the path of controversy, following the exit of Seyi Vibes as well as Muyeez from the record label.
Interestingly, this chain of events has also affected popular Chef, Hilda Baci, as she is the girlfriend of the owner of Dapper Music. Some X users have claimed that the mismanagement of Dapper Music funds was as a result of the need to fund her expensive lifestyle.
