Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), is a Nigerian Social activist and critic who has claimed that hackers had stolen ₦180 million that was donated into his NGO account.
In a video released on his Instagram account on Friday, December 27, 2024, VDM informed the Public that the funds intended for charity endeavours under his recently established Martins Vincent Osei Initiative had been transferred to an unidentified account.
Some of his statement from the video includes;
I’ve not been myself these past few days, Someone hacked into the NGO website, and N180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.
“The account is currently on PND (Post No Debit). There’s ₦20 million left, while ₦160 million was diverted to another account. We’re at the airport about heading to Jos to recover the money.”
He also revealed that the NGO’s app was temporarily shut down for maintenance to prevent further breaches and assured followers that they would receive updates on the recovery operations.
The Martins Vincent Osei Initiative, was launched in October 2024 and quickly gained attention, raising over ₦35 million in donations. Notably, popular music producer Don Jazzy donated ₦100 million to the initiative shortly after its launch. The stolen funds has caused mixed reactions among social media users. For now, We still await the next update from VDM.
