Nigerian artist and Record Producer Osabuohien Osaretin, best known by his stage name “Sarz,” was born in Benin City, Edo State. He is well-known for the tag “Sarz On The Beat,” which he uses at the start or finish of all of his musical creations.
Osabuohien Osaretin was born into a household of three in Benin City. He completed his high school studies at Goodwill Secondary School after attending All Saints Primary School.
Sarz describes his entry into music as a mistake. However, his love for music and ability to remember a beat in detail after hearing it played a major role in nurturing his interest in music production.
He is the owner of 1789 entertainment limited record label, and has produced numerous tracks as a music producer. His debut production was in 2010 when he produced the hit single ‘Jor Oh’ and the Remix for Jahbless which featured Durella, RuggedMan, Reminisce, Ice Prince and eLDee that won ‘Best Street Hop’ award and was nominated for ‘Best Collaboration’ at The Headies in 2011
He went on to produce songs for top artists such as Shank’s- Salute, eLDee’s- Today Today & Wash Wash, Skales- Mukulu, and Reminisce’s- Kako Bi Chicken. Kako Bi Chicken was nominated for “Best Street Hop” at The Headies, 2012. Later that year, he solely produced eLDee’s “Undeniable” album (except “We Made It”).
Sarz won the “Best New Producer” award at the 2012 Dynamix Awards and was nominated for “Producer Of The Year” at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
In 2012, Sarz released his first single as a music artist, “Beat Of Life (Samba),” featuring Wizkid. He also produced the song “Jaiye Jaiye,” which featured Femi Kuti, and “Kilofe” off Wizkid’s Ayo album in 2013
